Omakase chef - おまかせシェフ募集
I am seeking expressions of interest for a Omakase Chef to work alongside myself at a brand new venue located in the Rocks, Sydney, set to open in approximately 2- 3 months.
Your role will include sharing responsibility with myself in the day to day operation of the kitchen as well as providing leadership and coaching to your team. You must be highly motivated and focused with excellent attention to detail and can remain calm under pressure.
The venue is one of a kind and the owners goal for the restaurant is for it to be one of the top destinations in the Sydney Omakase scene.
The ideal person will have the following skills/knowledge
-Passion for food and creativity.
-Minimum 3 experience in Japanese cuisine (modern or traditional) as a sous, head chef or senior kitchen team member.
-Knowledge of food safety procedures and common sense.
-Ability to communicate well with customers and show personality, this is important as fun communication with the chef is paramount in Omakase venues.
-Ability to make excellent quality nigiri and sushi experience will be highly valued.
-Leadership qualities.
